i've always said my goal is for my home to always feel like im on vacation.
the best part about our apartment, is going outside on a summer evening to enjoy the fire pit and sunset from our cosy lounge chairs. i like to keep in mind a polynesian resort or a sedona patio with red rock desert views whenever i'm furniture shopping for our backyard. i'll flip through luxury brand catalogs such as RH, Pottery Barn, and Arhaus for inspiration and then hunt for the perfect dupes.
it's taken about two years to get our patio area perfect; although it will likely change again next year. but i have found some amazing furniture items for less which i will be sharing below.
just to give you an example, i lusted over these CB2 egg chairs in their outdoor catalog two years ago. they retail for $300 each.

these are easy to link furniture items but again, home goods and home sense are amazing places to find good dupes and budget friendly options to the more luxurious brands we love and lust over. make sure you go in prepared with an idea of your style, what you are looking for, and the vibe you want. it's easy to get caught up in all the options; it has happened to me many a times.
adding some plants and outdoor decor items, even just some citronella candles, will bring the space together, creating an inviting environment to sit and relax.
i am still on the search for a quality outdoor sofa piece from a discount store or second hand on craigslist / eBay as well as an outdoor dining set. personally i'd love a style similar to the pottery barn brooks table and some chairs similar to these from RH. once i can find something i love, i plan to get a concrete bowl centerpiece with some moss, keeping the decor minimal.
