i love a cosy, inviting space with lots of texture, neutral colors; a place where you walk in and feel a sense of calm. our home is very minimalistic, we don't have a lot of furniture or wall art, no decorative pieces unless they serve another purpose, but we do love hints of boho, farmhouse, even some mid century modern pieces. bohemian decor has changed over the years, from bright colors and mirrored accents to more natural textures and neutral colors. it's become a bit of a pinterest + instagram trend, so i'm sharing with you the ways we add boho to our home, and how you can too.
baskets
aside from the fact that they are great for holding linens, extra pillows or throw blankets, even toys for your pet or kids; baskets can be a statement and a way to fill a small space that needs un petit extra (a little extra something).
i always hit up Home Goods, Home Sense, TJ Max, any home discount store first, but some of my favorite shops to get baskets (& other home goods) are
Serene & Lily
throw pillow (s)
find a color that goes with your pallet and then shop for a fun, eccentric throw to accent.
add plants
a fiddle leaf fig is a safe bet as is a monstera. but there are lots of options!
serving tray
we use these for more than just eating on our couch. we use them to hold flowers + candles, coffee table books and our remote to the tv. or use it in the bathroom to hold your jars of cotton balls and q-tips, your diffuser. it's a great way to organize a space and add some decor.
rattan chair (s)
macrame
i personally love the bigger pieces that are a bit more intricate but the size depends on your space and aesthetic
pouf
these leather ones are breaking the internet at the moment
jute rugs
natural textures are always a 'do' when it comes to bohemian decor and i find that they freshen up the room, jute rugs are very clean looking. some that i love are from
placemats
ikea, overstock.com, & crate + barrel have great natural textured mats for your dinner table
